Excited about Thursday, which is tomorrow btw! These long weekends are crazy and can totally mess up the week, but I am PUMPED to dive into 1 Peter. Peter was a follower of Jesus, apart of the inner circle and was the rock in which Jesus built the church... meaning this book is filled with wisdom and truth from an insiders perspective.

WHAT IS UP ENCOUNTERYOUTH!  
As many of you know, EASTER is on its way.

Which means these next few weeks we will be focusing on the story of Jesus’ life, and what caused Him to go to the cross in the first place. His life was lived in opposition to the political powers, but He did things in a way that was so transformative, and so different, so focused on loving and sacrifice, that the only way to get rid of Him was to kill Him. Little did His enemies know, killing Him was the plan all along, and was going to SHAKE up the entire world. His death on a cross paid for our sins, and when Jesus rose again, ascended into heaven, and entrusted his disciples to take His message to the ends of the earth, it truly changed everything.

ENCOUNTERYOUTH…. This Thursday, we are going to be CELEBRATING! Normally, we would meet on zoom the entire night, but we are actually going to start on zoom, and head to another digital space for this unreal time together!!! 👀

So folks, YOU MADE IT. Sometimes, life beats us up, and with that, we don’t recognize ALL that we have been through!

COVID has been insane, so THIS THURSDAY is going to be about CELEBRATING THE FACT THAT WE MADE IT… ❤️

Here are some instructions so we can all participate in the night!

INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Download GOOGLE CHROME
2) USE your laptop or your parents computer. You can use a mobile device but it is better on a laptop!
3) DRESS UP! (Dress, suit and tie, funny outfit, WHATEVER)
4) Bring your fave drink so we can cheers one another… [Mine is sprite;)]
5) You need an email so you can create an account!!!

Also, there will be a prize for BEST DRESSED, so make sure to ball out!

Jesus, 2000 years later, echoes the essence of these statements by repeating them and applying them in new ways in the Gospel of John. By doing so, Jesus claims to be God… THINK ABOUT THAT!

These statements help us grow deeper in our understanding of who Jesus is, and challenge the cultures view on things such as salvation - The growing idea in the cultural landscape is that ALL roads lead to heaven… but Jesus doesn’t think so. This leads us to one conclusion… Jesus was crazy, or he was telling the truth! What do you think? Join us at 7:00 for that and a whole lot more!

GUYS, 2021 is here! 2020 was difficult, but as I reflect on the year, I recognize this one thing; We had God, each other, and we GREW in our faith.

Speaking of which, where have you decided to grow in your faith? Remember, that was our goal this year! Now, as we look to 2021, we have a number of things in mind. Where God was in 2020, where we want to continue to grow in 2021, and specifically, for this Thursday, we are going to be talking about SEEKING GOD’S KINGDOM FIRST! If we get this right, 2021 is bound to be good!

We are going to connect together, have fun, and learn from God’s word!

Also, read ahead in Matthew 6:33 because that is our scripture for this week!
