Branch Out is TOB's commitment to being 'out there', out there where the needs are, passionately engaged in the struggles of others. Responsible to make God's love visible, we partner with other agencies to serve those whom Jesus calls 'blessed': who struggle because of poverty, injustice, serious illness or social alienation.
Currently we are working with:
agencies serving 'at risk' youth such as Pathways for Youth, Making Hoops, and Sketch
residences serving the elderly and the physically challenged in places like Unionvilla and Participation House
agencies serving the homeless and the poor including The Scott Mission, The Toronto Christian Resource Centre, and Sanctuary
the Markham and Whitchurch-Stouffville Food Banks and
agencies which serve developing nations including Hands Across the Nations (Bolivia, South America and Mali, West Africa) Project Tanzania (with St. Philip's Anglican) and C4L (working with AIDS orphans in South Africa)
We are exploring ways to become involved in:
affordable housing initiatives such as MICAH and Habitat for Humanity
hospice facilities such as Evergreen, Casey House and The Philip Aziz Centre
refugee centres such as Matthew House
prison visitation and
advocacy and justice seeking initiatives
